The mission of Prayer Pursuits is to bring together the Body of Christ for prayer:
- Gathering pastors and ministry leaders to pray for revival in the Church as well as praying for the salvation of those who don’t know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
- Assisting the discipleship of people who have a passion for prayer as they come together to intercede for churches, ministers and those who bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who need Him
We accomplish this by focusing on the following four pursuits:
- Pursuing the Lord’s Face through Intimacy:
Mark 3:13-14 “And He went up on the mountain and summoned those whom He Himself wanted, and they came to Him. And He appointed twelve, so that they would be with Him and that He could send them out to preach.” Jesus called His disciples to Himself before He called them to go out and minister. This call to His side is our foremost calling and everything we do flows from it. Without developing the time with Him we cannot most fully go out and minister for Him.
We want to help ministers and leaders rediscover this first calling, to pursue the Lord’s face, through spiritual formation coaching, learning again the spiritual disciplines and drawing from Him daily.
- Pursue the Lord’s Presence through Community:
Gathering the leaders of the Church together for prayer has always been a crucial practice of the Church. The Church prayed together during times of trouble (Acts 4:24-31), leaders were praying and ministering to the Lord when they received instruction and sent out Barnabas and Saul (Acts 13:1-3). They prayed together with new leaders as they were appointed (Acts 14:21-23).
We want to encourage pastors and leaders to come together to pray for and encourage one another today as well! We need this gathering together for prayer today all the more!
- Pursue the Lord’s Heart through Cooperation:
The Apostle Paul frequently encouraged prayer for himself and the furtherance of his ministry (Romans 15:30; 2 Corinthians 1:11; Ephesians 6:19; Philippians 1:19; Colossians 4:3; 1 Thessalonians 5:25; 2 Thessalonians 3:1).
So we want to encourage prayer for ongoing and special ministry in our own cities and other regions of the country. Encouraging and assisting to develop church cooperation in prayer for outreach and evangelism as well as teaching and discipleship ministry is an important focus for Prayer Pursuits.
- Pursue the Lord’s Wisdom through Resources:
We want to share information regarding materials on prayer, intercession, corporate and personal prayer.
About Us
Prayer Pursuits is Michael and Jenine Andersen’s varied ministry in service to Christ. This ministry stems out of years of pastoral ministry and volunteer service inside and outside the church, coupled with personal prayer and partnering with the Holy Spirit. “Prayer Pursuits defines the admonition God has set before us to help individuals connect with Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit, so that all they are and do is a better reflection of Christ within them.”
Prayer Pursuits uses coaching questions and assessments along with prayer to assist people in seeking direction for spiritual growth. We recognize we don’t have all the answers, but together we can seek God Almighty who does.
You Can Partner With Us
Connection is the most important part of what we do:
Connecting people with the Lord in new ways (salvation), greater connection and surrender to Jesus Christ as Lord in the lives of believers (discipleship), and “smalling the walls” between churches and/or people so we can cooperate together as the Body of Christ in our local communities and region (missional fellowship).
We are always welcoming new partners and growing our network. God is on the move and we want to make sure that as many people as possible have the opportunity to come on board with us .
